Clasificación de homomorfismos de grupos

Proporcionamos ejercicios sobre clasificación de homomorfismos de grupos.

RESUMEN TEÓRICO
  • Definición. Sea $f:G\to G’$ un homomorfismo de grupos. Se dice que:
    $f$ es monomorfismo si y solo si, $f$ es inyectiva,
    $f$ es epimorfismo si y sólo si, $f$ es sobreyectiva,
    $f$ es isomorfismo si y sólo si, $f$ es biyectiva (es decir, es monomorfismo y epimorfismo),
    $f$ es endomorfismo si y sólo si $G=G’$ (además, la operación en $G$ ha de ser igual a la de $G’$),
    $f$ es automorfismo si y sólo si, $f$ es endomorfismo e isomorfismo.
  • Teorema. Sea $f:G\to G’$ un homomorfismo de grupos. Entonces, $$f \text{ es monomorfismo }\Leftrightarrow \ker f=\{e\}.$$ Es decir, $f$ es monomorfismo si y sólo si su núcleo se reduce al elemento neutro de $G.$
    Enunciado
  1. Sea $f:G\to G’$ un homomorfismo de grupos. Demostrar que $f$ es monomorfismo $\Leftrightarrow$ $\ker f=\{e\},$ siendo $e$ el neutro de $G.$
  2. Clasificar los siguientes homomorfismos:
    $(i)$ $f:\mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R},$ $f(x)=ax$ ( $a\in\mathbb{R}$ fijo ), entre los grupos $(\mathbb{R},+)$ y $(\mathbb{R},+).$
    $(ii)$ $g:\mathbb{R}^+\to \mathbb{R},$ $g(x)=\log x.$ entre los grupos $(\mathbb{R}^+,\cdot)$ y $(\mathbb{R},+).$
  3. Clasificar los siguientes homomorfismos:
    $(i)$ $f:\mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R},\;f(x)=e^x$, entre los grupos $(\mathbb{R},+)$ y $(\mathbb{R}-\{0\},\cdot)$
    $(ii)$ $g:\mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R}^+,\;g(x)=e^x,$ entre los grupos $(\mathbb{R},+)$ y $(\mathbb{R}^+,\cdot)$ ($\mathbb{R}^+$ es el conjunto de los reales positivos).
    Solución
  1. $\Rightarrow)$ Supongamos que fuera $\ker f\neq \{e\}.$ Entonces, existiría $x\in G$ con $x\neq e$ tal que $f(x)=e’$ (elemento neutro de $G’$). Pero $f(e)=e’,$ con lo cual $f$ no sería inyectiva (absurdo).
    $\Leftarrow)$ Para todo $x,y$ elementos de $G:$ $$\begin{aligned}&f(x)=f(y)\Rightarrow f(x)(f(y))^{-1}=e’\Rightarrow f(x)f(y^{-1})=e’\Rightarrow f(xy^{-1})=e’\\&\Rightarrow xy^{-1}\in \ker f=\{e\}\Rightarrow xy^{-1}=e\Rightarrow x=y\Rightarrow f\text{ es inyectiva.}\end{aligned}$$
  2. $(i)$ Si $a=0,$ el núcleo es $\ker f=\{x\in\mathbb{R}:0x=0\}=\mathbb{R}\neq \{0\},$ por tanto $f$ no es inyectiva. Tampoco es sobreyectiva pues $\operatorname{Im}f=\{0\}\neq \mathbb{R}.$
    Si $a\neq 0,$ entonces $\ker f=\{x\in\mathbb{R}:ax=0\}=\{0\},$ por tanto $f$ es inyectiva. Dado $x’\in\mathbb{R},$ tenemos $x’=f(x’/a),$ es decir $f$ es sobreyectiva. Concluimos que en este caso, $f$ es isomorfismo (además, automorfismo).
    $(ii)$ El núcleo es $\ker g=\{x\in\mathbb{R}^+:\log x=0\}=\{1\}.$ Como se reduce al elemento neutro de $(\mathbb{R},+),$ $g$ es inyectiva. La imagen de la función logarítmica sabemos que $\mathbb{R}$, por tanto $g$ es sobreyectiva. Concluimos que $f$ es isomorfismo.
  3. $(i)$ El núcleo es $\ker f=\{x\in\mathbb{R}:e^x=1\}=\{0\}.$ Como se reduce al elemento neutro de $(\mathbb{R},+),$ $f$ es inyectiva. La imagen de la función exponencial sabemos que es el conjunto de los números reales positivos $\mathbb{R}^+$, por tanto $f$ no es sobreyectiva. Concluimos que $f$ es monomorfismo.$(ii)$ De los razonamientos del apartado anterior, concluimos que $g$ es isomorfismo.
