Un endomorfismo nilpotente

Estudiamos un endomorfismo nilpotente.

    Enunciado
    Sea $f:\mathbb{R}^3\to \mathbb{R}^3$ la aplicación lineal que tiene respecto a la base canónica $\{e_1,e_2,e_3\}$ asociada la matriz $$A=\begin{bmatrix}{\;\;\;0}&{1}&{-\sin \theta}\\{-1}&{0}&{\;\;\;\cos \theta}\\{-\sin \theta}&{\cos \theta}&{\;\;\;0}\end{bmatrix}\quad (\theta \mbox { constante }).$$ Se pide:

  2. Si para $k\in \mathbb{R}$ se define la aplicación lineal $\varphi_k:\mathbb{R}^3\to \mathbb{R}^3$ mediante $$\varphi_k=i+kf+(k^2/2)f^2\quad i \text{ aplicación idéntica},$$ probar que el conjunto $G=\{\varphi_k:k\in\mathbb{R}\}$ es un grupo respecto de la composición de aplicaciones.
  3. Si $e’_1=(\cos \theta,\sin \theta,0),\;e’_2=(0,-1,-\sin \theta),\;e’_3=(1,0,\cos \theta)$, comprobar que $\{e’_1,e’_2,e’_3\}$ es una base de $\mathbb{R}^3$.
  4. Hallar la matriz de $f$ asociada a la base $\{e’_1,e’_2,e’_3\}$.

    Solución

    $$\varphi_k\circ \varphi_s=\left(i+kf+\frac{k^2}{2}f^2\right)\circ \left(i+sf+\frac{s^2}{2}f^2\right)$$ $$=
    i+sf+\frac{s^2}{2}f^2+kf+ksf^2+\frac{ks^2}{2}f^3+\frac{k^2}{2}f^2+\frac{k^2s}{2}f^3+\frac{k^2s^2}{2}f^4$$ $$=
    i+(s+k)f+\left(\frac{s^2}{2}+ks+\frac{k^2}{2}\right)f^2=i+(s+k)f+\frac{(k+s)^2}{2}f^2=\varphi_{k+s}.$$

El elemento neutro $i$ de la composición pertenece a $G$ pues $i=\varphi_0.$ Dado $\varphi_k\in G:$

    $i=\varphi_0=\varphi_{k+(-k)}=\varphi_k\circ \varphi_{-k}\Rightarrow \varphi_k^{-1}=\varphi_{-k}\in G.$

Concluimos que $(G.\circ)$ es grupo. Es además abeliano pues

    $\varphi_k\circ \varphi_s=\varphi_{k+s}=\varphi_{s+k}=\varphi_s\circ \varphi_k.$

  3. Dado que $\dim \mathbb{R}^3=3$, para demostrar que $\{e’_1,e’_2,e’_3\}$ es una base de $\mathbb{R}^3$ basta demostrar que son linealmente independientes o bien que el rango de la matriz correspondiente es 3.$$\begin{vmatrix}{\cos \theta}&{\sin \theta}&{\;\;0}\\{0}&{-1}&{-\sin \theta}\\{1}&{\;\;0}&{\;\;\;\cos \theta}\end{vmatrix}=-\cos^2\theta-\sin^2\theta=-1\neq 0.$$

Concluimos que $\{e’_1,e’_2,e’_3\}$ es efectivamente base de $\mathbb{R}^3$.
